The Graduation (Hotter Than A Summer III) is the third in the series of artworks from myself.

For this piece, I tried to create a mix between one of my older 'vector' works and my newer styles. I used the 3D lettering from the previous piece in the collection, to keep the fluidity of the series. I overlayed various colours onto this piece to keep it exciting, but at the same time gradual, so that its still interesting to look at every time. I wanted the piece to look like it had 'burst' or 'blossomed' in front of the viewer, so I kept all the detail to the central area. I tried to keep either side looking calm and simple, so that the eye is drawn to the multicolored explosion in the middle.

Although I wanted this piece to be bold and striking, I wanted to keep it soft and simple so that it would make an impact without being overbearing. I didn't over saturate or over contrast the piece simply so that there would be a gradual fade between colours, rather than the boldness created from over contrasted pieces. The appeal of this piece is that it is striking, but at the same time, quite calm.
